Not a big story in a game in Aarhus where 9th rankedBears Academy (6-15) was outplayed by third ranked Svendborg (17-4) 119-71 on Saturday. Svendborg dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Bears Academy 's 40 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Svendborg forced 25 Bears Academy turnovers and outrebounded them 41-27 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Svendborg looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Svendborg made 10 blocks. American guard Jalen Lake (193, college: Colorado St.) stepped up and scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Daniel Saylor (211, college: UAH) chipped in 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). The best for the losing side was guard Mads Ziegler (187-2007) with 15 points and 7 assists and forward Frederik Lauritzen (197-2006) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Svendborg . They maintain third place with 17-4 record having just one point less than leader Bakken Bears. Loser Bears Academy dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Herlev.
