Bottom-rankedVechta-2 (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-88 loss to seventh ranked Phoenix Hagen (6-2) in Hagen. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vechta-2 's 38 and made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Vechta 2 only scored eight points from the stripe. The other American import forward Naz Bohannon (198-1999, college: Clemson) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American swingman Luke House (193, college: Drexel, agency: Worldwide SM) replied with 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Karl Buehner (200-2005) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Vechta 2. Four Vechta 2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hagen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tuebingen. Vechta 2 at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with Nuernberg and Duesseldorf.
