Very predictable result when third rankedGiessen (7-1) defeated on the road 13th ranked Bensheim (1-7) 79-61 on Saturday. Giessen made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Bensheim turnovers. Strangely Bensheim outrebounded Giessen 46-30 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Miles Mallory (196, college: RMC) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Naturalized Serbian Nemanja Nadjfeji (198-2000) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Giessen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Tilman Isensee (206-1987) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and center Jonas Gieseck (213-2001) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Giessen keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Bensheim lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth place with seven games lost.
