Regular Season Round 9: HammStars - Herford 85-61

There was a minor upset when 7th rankedHerford (5-5) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked HammStars (5-5) 85-61 on Saturday. HammStars looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Marcel Kirsch (201-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds. American guard Thomas Miles (190, college: WPU) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. HammStars' coach Ivan Rosic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was French guard Jawaad Tonye-Biyik (185-2002) who recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Slovenian swingman Nejc Dizdarevic (192-2005) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. HammStars moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Herford.
