There was no surprise when 10th rankedSeawolves Academy (3-6) was outplayed on the road by first ranked Leverkusen (8-1) 92-64 on Sunday. Leverkusen dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Seawolves Academy 's 16. Leverkusen outrebounded Rostock Acad. 43-25 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Leverkusen looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-1987, college: Fresno Pacific) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Joel Lungelu (204-2003) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Leverkusen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mika Freitag (188-2006) who recorded 21 points and Dutch swingman Sydnee Bijlsma (195-2004) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leverkusen maintains first place with 8-1 record, which they share with Leitershofen and Koeln. Rostock Acad. at the other side keeps the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
