There was no surprise in Crailsheim where 13th rankedLions (4-12) were outplayed by tenth ranked Hakro Merlins (10-6) 88-69 on Friday. Crailsheim looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Devon Goodman (184-1997, college: Pennsylvania) fired 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Brock Gardner (201-1997, college: Master's) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Gardner is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Hakro Merlins players scored in double figures. Hakro Merlins' coach David McCray used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Abu Kigab (200-1998, college: Boise St.) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and center Maurice Pluskota (209-1992) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hakro Merlins have an impressive five-game winning streak. Crailsheim moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Muenster and Kirchheim. Karlsruhe PS lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Artland.
