Regular Season Round 15: ALBA - Bayern 88-81

The biggest surprise took place in Berlin where hostALBA Berlin (5-8) beat league's leader Bayern Muenchen (9-4) 88-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bayern Muenchen. ALBA looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center David McCormack (208-1999, college: Kansas) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Matt Thomas (195-1994, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Devin Booker (205-1991, college: Clemson) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Carsen Edwards (183-1998, college: Purdue) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ALBA moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Hamburg. Defending champion Bayern still keeps top position with four games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Ulm who have the same record.
