Regular Season Round 16: Salzkotten - B.Loewen 101-89

There was no surprise when 12th rankedB.Loewen (6-12) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Salzkotten (10-7) 101-89 on Saturday. Salzkotten dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to B.Loewen 's 34. They outrebounded B.Loewen 46-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. Salzkotten looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by B.Loewen 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Dainius Zvinklys (203-1990) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 assists and Elijah Hayes who added 26 points, 11 assists and 6 steals during the contest. Salzkotten's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Kai Winkelnkemper (195-1996) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Marc Ra scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four B.Loewen players scored in double figures. Salzkotten moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Herford. Newly promoted B.Loewen keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost.
