Regular Season Round 16: Braunschweig - Rotenburg 43-60
Date: February 1, 2025
Rather expected game when 7th rankedBraunschweig (6-9) lost at home to fifth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (8-9) 60-43 on Saturday. The winners were led by American forward Maren Durant (190-2001, college: GWU) who scored that evening 6 points, 20 rebounds and 6 blocks and the former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-1990) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even 12 points by British Harriet Swindells (175-1999, college: Barry) did not help to save the game for Braunschweig . Forward Shadeh Preston (183-2007) added 6 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rotenburg/Scheessel have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 8-9 record. Braunschweig lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Rhein-Main. Rotenburg will meet at home league's second-placed Chemnitz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Braunschweig will play against Oberhausen (#11) and hope to secure a win.
