There was no surprise when 12th rankedLudwigsburg (6-11) was defeated at home by second ranked RheinStars (13-4) 81-77 on Saturday. Koeln dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ludwigsburg 's 30. Koeln forced 28 Ludwigsburg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Point guard Rupert Hennen (184-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 assists for the winners and center Bjorn Rohwer (213-1995) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. RheinStars' coach Stephan Baeck allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Simon Feneberg (187-2005) responded with 16 points and 8 assists and Marko Masic (197-2005) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Koeln and five Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Koeln keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Leitershofen. Ludwigsburg lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with TKS 49ers.
