There was a small surprise when twelfth rankedVechta-3 (4-12) beat 10th ranked Goetting.ASC (6-11) in Goettingen 91-85 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Goetting.ASC won fourth quarter 25-24 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for center Malte Giljan (205-1995) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Tim Insinger (208-1997) accounted for 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Vechta-3's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Nikolas Schultz (206-1999) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks and Ukrainian point guard Daniel Zelanto-Vorsovsky (184-2004) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for Goetting.ASC in the defeat. Four Vechta-3 and five Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Vechta 3 maintains twelfth place with 4-12 record. Goetting.ASC lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Soeflingen and Saarlouis.
