Regular Season Round 23: Giessen 46ers - Artland 92-75

There was no surprise in Giessen where 17th rankedArtland Dragons (5-18) were defeated by third ranked 46ers (16-7) 92-75 on Sunday. Giessen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Artland Dragons 's 16. It was a great evening for Serbian forward Viktor Kovacevic (203-1999, college: West Liberty) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 9 rebounds. Serbian center Mladen Vujic (205-1999) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five 46ers players scored in double figures. Greek point guard Nikolaos Chouchoumis (186-1996) responded with 21 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American forward Tajh Green (203-1998, college: Benedict) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for 46ers . Giessen maintains third place with 16-7 record having five points less than leader Jena. Loser Artland Dragons keeps the seventeenth position with 18 games lost.
