There was a surprise result when seventeenth rankedArtland Dragons (6-18) won against higher ranked Falcons (7-17) in Quakenbrueck 75-62 on Saturday. Artland outrebounded Nuernberg 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by center Robert Oehle (209-1988) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Greek point guard Nikolaos Chouchoumis (186-1996) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 4 steals by American point guard Jack Pagenkopf (191-1997, college: Utah Tech, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Nuernberg . Julius Wolf (205-1993) added 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Artland moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Duesseldorf. Nuernberg at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth and Koblenz.
