Very predictable result when fourth ranked Recklinghausen (11-5) smashed at home 9th ranked Baskets Grunberg (6-11) 80-54 on Saturday. Recklinghausen made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game, while Gruenberg only scored seven points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American guard Vishe Rabb (175-1999, college: Augustana) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import center Brooke Bjelko (190-1999, college: Bryant) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Center Charlotte Kohl (196-2000, college: N.Mexico) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and American Tonisha Baker (173-1990, college: Campbell) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Recklinghausen moved-up to third place, which they share with Osnabrueck BBC. Loser Baskets Grunberg keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Recklinghausen will meet Braunschweig (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Gruenberg will play against Osnabrueck BBC and hope to secure a win.
