There was a small surprise in Berlin where eleventh rankedVechta-3 (6-13) edged their close opponent Freibeuter (4-8) 92-89 on Sunday. Vechta 3 made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Tim Insinger (208-1997) stepped up and scored 31 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and center Malte Giljan (205-1995) chipped in 20 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Alexander Schillmann (184-1996) with 17 points and 4 assists and Paul Graetz (197-1997) scored 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Freibeuter's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Vechta 3 maintains eleventh place with 6-13 record. Freibeuter lost their third game in a row. Freibeuter at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Schwabing.
