The game between third ranked46ers (18-9) and thirteenth ranked Bayreuth 46ers were edged by Bayreuth in a tough game in Bayreuth 77-78 . They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Giessen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American swingman Demarcus Demonia (201-1999, college: A&M-Commerce) who saved his team from a defeat with 13 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Demonia is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Naturalized American guard Kevin McClain (190-1996, college: Belmont) answered with 16 points and 6 assists and the former international forward Robin Benzing (208-1989) added 22 points in the effort for Giessen. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bayreuth maintains thirteenth place with 9-18 record, which they share with Nuernberg. Giessen at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost.
