Regular Season Round 27: Vechta 2 - Crailsheim 71-84

Everything went according to plan when fourth rankedHakro Merlins (19-8) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Vechta-2 (4-23) 84-71 on Sunday. Crailsheim made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Vechta 2 turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Brock Gardner (201-1997, college: Master's) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Brazilian Gabriel De Oliveira (206-1998) accounted for 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Gardner is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Danish guard Jonathan Klussmann (190-2002) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and Luc Van Slooten (205-2002) added 5 points respectively for Vechta 2 in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hakro Merlins . Crailsheim moved-up to third place. Vechta 2 lost their fifth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games.
