Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh rankedAschersleben and 9th ranked Vechta-3 had identical 7-14 record. This time Aschersleben used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Vechta 94-81 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was American guard DMonte Brown (193-2000, college: Langston) who scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Finn Mohl (198-2003, college: Lawrence Tech) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Aschersleben players scored in double figures. Center Malte Giljan (205-1995) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and Tim Insinger (208-1997) added 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aschersleben (8-14) moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Vechta 3 dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Goetting.ASC.
