There was no surprise when 5th ranked Loewen (6-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked Rhein-Neckar (9-5) 82-64 on Sunday. Rhein-Neckar dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Loewen's 38. Rhein-Neckar looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rhein-Neckar made 10 blocks. Jannik Geiger fired 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Rasmus Menger (203-2006) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Constantin Kraues produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Till Jacob added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rhein-Neckar. Newly promoted Rhein-Neckar maintains second place with 9-5 record behind leader RASTA Ac. Loser Loewen keeps the fifth position with eight games lost.
