Regular Season Round 33: Trier - Jena 101-74

Date: April 19, 2025
The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Science City Jena (29-4) in Trier on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by second ranked Gladiators (26-7) 101-74. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Trier forced 19 Jena turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Jena helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Jordan Roland (185-1997, college: Northeastern, agency: Diamond Sports) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Forward Marten Linssen (203-1998, college: St.Louis) contributed with 17 points and 4 blocks for the winners. American point guard Zach Cooks (175-1999, college: Hofstra) answered with 13 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Tyler Nelson (190, college: Washburn) added 16 points in the effort for Jena. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiators have a solid series of three victories in a row. Trier maintains second place with 26-7 record having just three points less than leader Jena. Jena at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Trier are looking forward to face Duesseldorf (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jena will play against Phoenix Hagen (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
