There was a minor upset when 7th rankedChemnitz (15-13) was rolled over at home by tenth ranked ALBA Berlin (16-14) 103-81 on Sunday. ALBA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Chemnitz 's 20. ALBA forced 20 Chemnitz turnovers and outrebounded them 34-17 including 22 on the defensive glass. ALBA looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized New Zealand center Yannick Wetzell (206-1996, college: SDSU) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center David McCormack (208-1999, college: Kansas) chipped in 9 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Jeff Garrett (201-1994, college: LSUS, agency: Players Group) with 16 points and his fellow American import guard DeAndre Lansdowne (188-1989, college: Fort Lewis) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ALBA moved-up to seventh place. Chemnitz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Weissenfels and Hamburg.
