But Bensheim was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Giessen 77-74 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was forward Finn Mohl (198-2003, college: Lawrence Tech) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Oscar Wolter (198, college: Alfred) chipped in 24 points. Eric Curth (193-1992) produced 14 points and 4 assists and added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Bensheim players scored in double figures. Bensheim's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Giessen will meet at home Reutlingen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bensheim will play against Ehingen in Allmendingen and hope to win that game.
