There was no surprise whenHamburg Towers (0-3) lost on the road to Bayern Muenchen (2-0) 96-79 on Sunday. Bayern forced 21 Hamburg turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Bayern looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (191-1994, college: FSU) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. American-Georgian guard Kamar Baldwin (183-1997, college: Butler) accounted for 13 points and 8 assists for the winning side. French center Zacharie Perrin (207-2004, college: Illinois) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American guard LJ Thorpe (196-1999, college: UNC Asheville) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Hamburg in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
