There was a minor upset in Giessen where 7th rankedLeverkusen (4-4) was crushed by ninth ranked 46ers (4-4) 97-71 on Sunday. Giessen 46ers dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Leverkusen 's 22 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Aiden Warnholtz (188-2000, college: Carleton) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and the former international forward Robin Benzing (208-1989) who added 15 points during the contest. 46ers' coach Branislav Ignjatovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ricardo Lynch (201-1998, college: Clayton St.) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and center Dennis Heinzmann (216-1991) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giessen 46ers moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Leverkusen .
