Regular Season Round 7: Rotenburg - Rhoendorf 53-77

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hurricanes (2-5) were smashed by fifth ranked Talents (5-3) in Rotenburg 77-53 on Saturday. They outrebounded Rotenburg 46-27 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Lisanne Rawer-Tanguep who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Martha Middeler accounted for 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Kendall Nead (180-2002, college: Milwaukee) came up with 19 points and the other American import forward Jenna Cotter (188-2003, college: Potsdam St.) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Rotenburg in the defeat. Rhoendorf moved-up to fourth place. Loser Hurricanes keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Bamberg. Rhoendorf will meet Lichterfelde (#6) in the next round. Rotenburg will play against Eimsbuetteler (#8) in Hamburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
