Regular Season Round 9: Leimen - Bamberg 56-67

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Leimen (3-5) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Bamberg (3-5) 67-56 on Sunday. Bamberg held Leimen to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Faith Alston stepped up and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Hailey Van Roekel chipped in 19 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Nataliia Babii with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Mallory Brodnik scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bamberg moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Leimen. Bamberg will meet at home Mainz (#10) in the next round. Leimen will play against Stuttgart MTV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
