There was a minor upset when higher rankedBamberg (4-4) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Seawolves (4-4) 87-74 on Monday. Rostock outrebounded Bamberg 49-20 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Guard DeAndre Lansdowne (188-1989, college: Fort Lewis) nailed 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and forward DShawn Schwartz (199-1999, college: GMU) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Cobe Williams (183-2000, college: Tulsa) came up with 12 points and 4 assists and forward Justin Bean (201-1996, college: Utah St.) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Bamberg in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rostock moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Bamberg . Rostock will meet at home higher ranked Ludwigsburg (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bamberg will play against Heidelberg and hope to secure a win.
