There was an upset in Karlsruhe where 4th placedHakro Merlins (8-3) were defeated by twelfth ranked Lions (5-6) 95-85 on Monday. Karlsruhe PS dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Hakro Merlins 's 22. Karlsruhe PS had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for center Maurice Pluskota (209-1992) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward David Ejah (201-2000, college: Indianapolis, agency: Players Group) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-1998, college: NDSU) responded with 21 points and 6 assists and Austrian Marvin Ogunsipe (203-1996) scored 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Karlsruhe PS and four Crailsheim players scored in double figures. Hakro Merlins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. Karlsruhe PS moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kirchheim and Koblenz. Loser Hakro Merlins dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven.
