Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked46ers (7-5) defeated 13th ranked Bayreuth (4-8) in Giessen 95-84 on Sunday. Giessen 46ers made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Bayreuth turnovers. The winners were led by the former international forward Robin Benzing (208-1989) who scored that evening 19 points and Slovakian point guard Simon Krajcovic (188-1994, college: LMU) supported him with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 22 points and 6 assists by American guard KeVaughn Allen (188-1995, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Bayreuth . Moritz Plescher (195-2000) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Giessen 46ers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bochum. Loser Bayreuth keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Leverkusen.
