There was an upset when higher rankedALBA Berlin (6-4) was edged at home by eleventh ranked ratiopharm Ulm (6-5) 67-66 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American Justin Simon (196-1996, college: St.John's, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Mark Smith (193-1999, college: Kansas St.) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. The former international center Norris Agbakoko (217-2000) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Jack Kayil (191-2006) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. ratiopharm Ulm have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Frankfurt. Loser ALBA Berlin keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Bamberg.
