There was a minor upset when 6th rankedStuttgart MTV (6-5) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Bamberg (5-6) 66-59 on Saturday. Bamberg outrebounded Stuttgart MTV 45-22 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Elise Tweedie who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and Emma Rettinger who added 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Joanna Scheu (167-2005) with 18 points and 7 assists and Portuguese forward Tess Santos (181-1999, college: Denver) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Bamberg maintains eighth position with 5-6 record. Loser Stuttgart MTV keeps the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Wasserburg. Bamberg will meet at home higher ranked Wuerzburg (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stuttgart MTV will play against Wasserburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
