Everything could happen in Trier at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth rankedGladiators and 5th ranked ratiopharm Ulm had identical 8-5 record. This time Gladiators used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ulm 100-89 on Sunday night. Trier made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Steven Ashworth scored 16 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Nolan Adekunle (200-2002) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Danish Tobias Jensen (198-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Ghanian-American Christopher Ledlum (198-2001, college: St.John's) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Five Trier and four Ulm players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trier (9-5) moved-up to third place. Loser ratiopharm Ulm dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Trier will meet Hamburg (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ulm will play against Braunschweig (#16) and hope to secure a win.
