We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Erfurt where 11th rankedWuerzburg Ak. (4-10) was rolled over by twelfth ranked Loewen (4-9) 96-74 on Sunday. CATL Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Wuerzburg Ak. 's 28. CATL Loewen forced 23 Wuerzburg Ak. turnovers and outrebounded them 50-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. CATL Loewen looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Mike Mitchell Jr (188-2002, college: Minnesota, agency: One Motive Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Samuel Nellessen helped adding 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Loewen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Marko Petric (202-2008) with 18 points and forward Ivan Crnjac (203-2007) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CATL Loewen moved-up to eleventh place. Wuerzburg Ak. at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Frankfurt Jrs.
