Regular Season Round 17: SC Wizards - Schwenningen 85-91

Round 17 games in the Regionalliga were marked by very close results. The first upset was a home defeat of 3rd placedSC Wizards (13-3) to first ranked Schwenningen (14-2) 91-85 . It ended the three-game winning streak of SC Wizards . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Schwenningen shot 20 for 33 from the free-throw line, while SC Wizards only scored four points from the stripe. 28 personal fouls committed by SC Wizards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Canadian-Jamaican guard Kedar Salam NKosi (191-1994, college: Simon Fraser, agency: HB-Spain) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners and Kosovan-Croatian Denis Zenelaj (200-2002) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Schwenningen players scored in double figures. Schwenningen's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Sam Stockton (188, college: EWU) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Ukrainian forward Vitali Malchevskiy (203-1987) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Schwenningen maintains first place with 14-2 record, which they share with Reutlingen. SC Wizards at the other side keep the third position with three games lost.
