The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedFalcons (12-2) on the court of eighth ranked Bamberg on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Bamberg 70-51 . Bamberg forced 24 Bad Homburg turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Faith Alston (170-2002, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Stephanie Sachnovski (170-2002) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Bamberg players scored in double figures. American forward Meghan Kenefick (183-2001, college: CCSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Tosca Steinhoff (172-2001) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Bad Homburg. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bamberg maintains eighth position with 6-8 record, which they share with Mainz. Bad Homburg at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Bamberg is looking forward to face higher ranked Freiburg 2 (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bad Homburg will play against Jena (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
