There was no surprise in Karlsruhe where 6th rankedGiessen (12-8) was defeated by second ranked SC Wizards (16-4) 78-70 on Saturday. SC Wizards forced 19 Giessen turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Niklas Weise (182-1993) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Vitali Malchevskiy (203-1987) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four SC Wizards players scored in double figures. SC Wizards' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Oscar Wolter (198, college: Alfred) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and Kai Musse added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for SC Wizards . They maintain second place with 16-4 record having just ten point less than leader Charlottenburg. Loser Giessen keeps the sixth position with eight games lost.
