There was a small surprise when ninth rankedRist Wedel (9-10) edged at home 6th ranked H.Loewen (11-10) 67-64 on Sunday. Rist Wedel outrebounded H.Loewen 39-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Point guard Janne Mueller (193-2006) stepped up and scored 21 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and Canadian forward Lincoln Rosebush (208-1999, agency: BIG) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds. Rist Wedel's coach Hamed Attarbashi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was naturalized Italian Dario Fiorentino (206-1986) with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian Gilbert Gyamfi (193-1991, college: John Brown) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five H.Loewen players scored in double figures. Rist Wedel maintains ninth place with 9-10 record, which they share with Dresden. Loser H.Loewen keeps the sixth position with ten games lost.
