Fifth-rankedArtland Dragons (14-10) were very close to win a game against third ranked Hakro Merlins (19-5) in Crailsheim on Saturday. Hakro Merlins managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90 . However their fans expected easier game. The winners were led by American guard Anthony Gaines (193-1998, college: Siena, agency: One Motive Sports) who scored that evening 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Austrian Marvin Ogunsipe (203-1996) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hakro Merlins players scored in double figures. Hakro Merlins' coach David McCray used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 28 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Benjamin Burnham (202-2002, college: Virginia Tech) did not help to save the game for Artland . His fellow American import point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) added 22 points and 5 assists. Hakro Merlins have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Crailsheim moved-up to second place, which they share with Goettingen. Artland lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kirchheim.
