Regular Season Round 19: Jena - Mainz 100-66

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Mainz (6-11) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Jena (12-5) 100-66 on Saturday. Jena outrebounded Mainz 42-19 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Taylor Robertson (180-2000, college: Oklahoma) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Latvian center Marta Miscenko (194-1995, college: Wingate) helped adding 18 points and 18 rebounds. Four Jena players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Taylor Golembiewski (173-2003, college: Colgate) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Svea Rehders (170-2003) scored 17 points. Jena maintains third place with 12-5 record having nine points less than leader Bad Homburg, which they share with Bochum. Mainz lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Jena will meet league's second-placed Heidelberg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mainz will play against Bamberg (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
