There was an upset when higher rankedGiessen (12-10) was edged on the road by tenth ranked Moehringen (8-14) 88-87 on Saturday. Moehringen made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Giessen only scored five points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Nico Hihn who scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Brian Zimmer chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Moehringen's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Zeke Crawford (201-1999, college: Lewis & Clark) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and Kai Musse added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Giessen players scored in double figures. Moehringen moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lich and Bensheim. Giessen lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost.
