Regular Season Round 27: Giessen 46ers - Kirchheim 111-89

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked46ers (16-11) crushed 5th ranked Kirchheim Knights (16-11) in Giessen 111-89 on Saturday. Giessen 46ers made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Kyle Castlin (193-1996, college: Xavier) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian forward Viktor Kovacevic (203-1999, college: West Liberty, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. 46ers' coach Branislav Ignjatovic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Tylan Pope (198-2001, college: Texas St.) came up with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Chuck Harris (188-2001, college: SMU) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Kirchheim in the defeat. Five Giessen 46ers and four Kirchheim players scored in double figures. 46ers have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Giessen 46ers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Artland and Kirchheim.
