There was an upset when higher rankedEnBW Ludwigsburg (12-11) was outscored on the road by thirteenth ranked Rasta Vechta (10-14) 121-102 on Saturday. Vechta dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to EnBW Ludwigsburg 's 34 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Vechta shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Ludwigsburg 's players. The winners were led by American guard Alonzo Verge Jr (190-1998, college: Nebraska, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 assists and the former international center Tibor Pleiss (221-1989) supported him with 20 points. Even 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) by Jamaican-Canadian guard Stefan Smith (187-1999, college: St.John's, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Ludwigsburg . American swingman Elijah Hughes (198-1998, college: Syracuse) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Vechta and four Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rasta Vechta have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Frankfurt. Loser EnBW Ludwigsburg keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost.
