There was a surprise result when thirteenth rankedOldenburger TB (9-18) edged on the road higher ranked Wolfenbuettel (11-16) 82-81 on Saturday. Oldenburger TB forced 19 Wolfenbuettel turnovers. The best player for the winners was Piet Niehus (188-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Tim Insinger (208-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Gabe Johnson (185-2001, college: CBC, agency: Du Sports Agency LLC) produced a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Thorben Uster (195-2002) added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Four Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Oldenburger TB moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Goetting.ASC. Wolfenbuettel lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven.
