Very important is a home loss of third rankedBG Goettingen (20-8) against sixth ranked Artland Dragons (17-11) on Sunday night. Host BG Goettingen was defeated by Artland Dragons in a tough game in Goettingen 93-101 . Artland made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Goettingen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American-Syrian guard Amir Hinton (196-1997, college: Shaw) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and American forward Benjamin Burnham (202-2002, college: Virginia Tech) supported him with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 19 points and 4 assists by American point guard Jordan Sears (180-2001, college: LSU) did not help to save the game for Goettingen . Center Hendrik Drescher (204-2000) added 13 points for lost side. Four Goettingen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kirchheim. Goettingen at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost.
