There was a minor upset when 9th rankedMainz (7-13) was smashed on the road by eleventh ranked Leimen (4-16) 81-56 on Sunday. Leimen forced 23 Mainz turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Janina Dzubba (160-2004) who led the winners and scored 13 points. Power forward Nataliia Babii (183-1995) accounted for 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Leimen's coach Michael Herb felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Taylor Golembiewski (173-2003, college: Colgate) came up with 27 points and 8 rebounds and Alina Doetsch (170-1999) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Mainz in the defeat. Leimen moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Saarlouis/Dillin. Loser Mainz keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost.
