Very predictable result when eighth rankedEnBW Ludwigsburg (16-14) won against on the road bottom-ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (8-22) 83-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 45-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely MLP Academics Heidelberg outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Jamaican-Canadian guard Stefan Smith (187-1999, college: St.John's, agency: Players Group) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Elijah Hughes (198-1998, college: Syracuse) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. American forward Ryan Mikesell (201-1996, college: Dayton, agency: Slash Sports) came up with 26 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and center Marcel Kessen (207-1997, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for MLP Academics Heidelberg in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ludwigsburg moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Trier. Loser MLP Academics Heidelberg dropped to the bottom position with 22 games lost. They share it with Braunschweig.
