There was no surprise when 9th rankedSeawolves (14-14) lost to sixth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (17-13) in Rostock 68-75 on Sunday. Ulm dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Seawolves 's 22. Ulm forced 20 Rostock turnovers. Strangely Rostock outrebounded Ulm 48-35 including 21 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Ghanian-American Christopher Ledlum (198-2001, college: St.John's) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Mark Smith (193-1999, college: Kansas St.) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American forward DShawn Schwartz (199-1999, college: GMU) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Kassim Nicholson (200-1999, college: Tennessee St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Rostock in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ulm maintains sixth place with 17-13 record. Loser Seawolves dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Ulm will meet at home Hamburg (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rostock will play against Ludwigsburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
