There was a surprise result when seventeenth rankedBraunschweig (9-22) edged at home higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (17-15) 98-97 on Saturday. Braunschweig shot 38 for 53 from the free-throw line, while Ludwigsburg only scored seventeen points from the stripe. Dutch forward David NGuessan (206-2000, college: Kansas St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international swingman Joshua Obiesie (198-2000) chipped in 16 points. Five Braunschweig players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Jamaican-Canadian guard Stefan Smith (187-1999, college: St.John's, agency: Players Group) with 26 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American guard Tray Buchanan (187-1998, college: Emporia St.) scored 19 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Braunschweig . They maintain seventeenth place with 9-22 record.
