Everything went according to plan when third rankedBamberg (22-10) won against at home 14th ranked Hamburg Towers (13-19) 85-71 on Sunday. Bamberg made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Demarcus Demonia (201-1999, college: ETAMU) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Czech point guard Richard Balint (192-2002, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Demonia is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Bamberg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Devon Daniels (196-1998, college: NC State, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) with 17 points and 4 assists and Hungarian forward Zsombor Maronka (207-2002) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Bamberg . They maintain third place with 22-10 record having five points less than leader Bayern. Loser Hamburg Towers dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Weissenfels.
