Regular Season Round 22: ZTE KK - Szolnok 80-109

Very expected game when 14th ranked ZTE KK (1-21) was smashed by third ranked Szolnok (18-4) in Zalaegerszeg 109-80. It looked good early as ZTE KK took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Szolnok had a 34-20 second period charge getting the lead and ZTE KK was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-109. Szolnok shot 60.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by ZTE KK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Marton Bader (212-80, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. International guard Marton Fodor (191-81, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) chipped in 20 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Szolnok's coach Peter Por felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Esian Henderson (204-86, college: Central Mo.) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Thomas Kelley (188-77, college: Michigan St., agency: TSS Management) added 18 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Five Szolnok and four ZTE KK players scored in double figures. Szolnok moved-up to second place, which they share with Albacomp. ZTE KK lost tenth consecutive game. Defending champion stay dead last with 21 lost games. Szolnok's next round opponent will be Kecskemeti (#6) at home. ZTE KK will play against Atomeromu (#5) in Paks.
